Back from Germany

I'm now back from Germany. It was a tiring trip. I guess short trips are normally more tiring coz you have less time to recover from the travelling, especially from the flights.

The wedding of my friend (Theresa) was great. I really do need to thank her parents for their hospitality for the first 2 nights where I stayed at their house. Of course I need to thank my friend and her husband (Michael) as well. I must take them out for dinner next time when they are visiting London. :-)

So what exactly happened at the wedding? Well, in the morning I went along with my friend to the hair salon for styling her hair and to apply make-up. I also went along and had my hair and make-up done there. For some reasons, I tend to get a makeover for my friends' weddings. Maybe because I look so 'scruffy' normally that I need to get one done so that I don't scare people off. Hehe! :-p The wedding was a Catholic church wedding, and I'm glad that I know what exactly happens in a Catholic mass, otherwise I would have been totally lost as I don't understand a single word of German. The wedding ceremony was very touching, and I almost shed a tear, but I managed not to, otherwise I could have ruined the make-up and scared people. Haha! :-) After the church wedding, we went to the hotel for the reception. First we had drinks and then we moved into the large function room (there were 140 people in total) and sat down to have coffee and cakes including the multi-layers wedding cake. After the coffee and cakes, we then went to release ballooons with well wishes on a postcard. Hopefully, a few of them will be picked up by people and the cards will be posted to the bride and groom. After that, we just mingled in the lobby as the tables in the large function room needed to be rearranged for the dinner. Dinner was buffet-style and there were loads of food. After dinner, of course there were lots of dancing and games as well. I was invited by people who were sitting at the same table to dance. I stopped dancing after 2 songs, not only because I was very bad at dancing but my feet were hurting as I don't normally wear heels. I need to apologise to these people, as I forgot to say goodbye to them before I returned to my hotel room as I was so tired by 1 am. The party actually didn't finish until 4 am. So, Peter, Tino & Denise, Werner & Jens, "Sorry!". Oh yeh, I need to apologise to Werner as I remember that I stepped on him during the dance. I hope he didn't get any bruised toes. :-)

I had a great time in Germany despite the tiredness. I took lots of photos but I am still trying to regain my energy before I could spend time to sort them out and upload them onto the web site. I will probably get them done during the upcoming bank holiday weekend.

Dear Helen,

Thank you so much for being such a good company for me during these exciting days. From carrying the tons of shopping bags to not getting tired of saying "Don't worry, it will be fine!". It was a great help for me.
And last but not least, thank you so much for taking so many nice pictures.
See you soon - in London,
Theresa
